About me

My name is Teslim Abubakar, though I am originally from Lagos, Nigeria,I currently reside in New York City. An aspiring computer engineer, a gym rat, and a United States Marine. I have a strong passion for computers and want to inspire others, especially folks from under-developing countries like Nigeria to get into computers.

As a sophomore at CUNY New York College of Technology, I am pursuing a degree in computer science. The knowledge of Python (a programming language) I acquired during my first year of college helped me participate in a research program with the Information Systems meet CUltural Competencies (IS-CUCO). The research was conducted in collaboration with students and professors from California State University at Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), University of Texas El Paso (UTEP), and North Eastern Illinois University (NEIU). Project objectives included developing Information Systems to improve their use by Hispanics and other underserved groups.

This is a journey of a lifetime, my goal is to initiate aspiring computer engineers like me to pursue their dreams.
